Additionally, women can be provided with up to a week’s worth of clothing when they secure employment. This can help to see them through the first few weeks until they receive their first pay check, or it simply may just give them the basics they need to feel comfortable and confident at the beginning of their new career.
Due to the impact of the global pandemic, Dress for Success have launched a new program, ‘Career Support and Mentoring’ to specifically address the large numbers of women who have now found themselves without work for the first time in a long time. Dedicated volunteers provide support to help with resumes and to prepare for interviews.
The support from ‘The Pulse of Tasmania’ will allow Dress for Success Hobart to build on the initial success of supporting women in the Tasmanian community and continue to ensure that all women experiencing unemployment (or underemployment) have access to a network of support if they so wish.
Access to the support Dress for Success Hobart provides enables women to build their confidence and establish hope in their lives.
